Welcome to our Reykjavik – Blue Lagoon post! This covers everything we did on day 2 of our P&O Arcadia cruise to Norway, Iceland and Ireland.

We’d booked the excursion directly with P&O. When taking in to account our Loyalty discount, there was very little in price and as an organised excursion, it couldn’t be more convenient.
The Blue Lagoon is a man made lagoon, the water is a by-product from the nearby geothermal power plant. The water’s milky blue shade is due to its high silica content, bathing in the lagoon is proven to have a beneficial effect on the skin.
Just to warn you though, everyone is expected to shower completely naked before entering the lagoon to avoid contaminating it… don’t worry, this is perfectly normal to Icelanders and there are some private cubicles for changing and showering within the changing rooms.
There are two face masks to choose from, one is complimentary, the other has a small charge! The pool are is a cashless environment, and anything you purchase is charged to your wrist band – you settle your account when leaving the changing area.
Also included in our entry fee was one drink, so we opted for a beer!
We had a fabulous time at the Blue Lagoon, we really recommend you visit if you can. Find out more at https://www.bluelagoon.com/
