Marella Explorer Canarian Flavours – Episode 2 Fuerteventura
Welcome back to our Marella Explorer Canarian Flavours cruise series! In this episode, we explore more of the ship, enjoy a relaxing spa tour, take a fun little tourist train ride in Puerto del Rosario Fuerteventura, and, of course, indulge in some delicious cruise cuisine.

Breakfast with a View
Starting our day on Deck 11, we headed to The Marketplace, the go-to spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and various snacks throughout the day. The morning was slightly overcast, but the warm Canarian climate still made for a pleasant start.
As we strolled past the ship’s funnel, we couldn’t resist snapping a quick cheeky selfie—a must-do on any cruise!
Relaxation at the Spa
We usually check out the spa on embarkation day, as appointments book up fast. Luckily, even on Day 2, there was still plenty of availability, and spa tours were being offered.
Our guide, Abby, took us through the thermal suite, showcasing the foot baths, various saunas and steam rooms, a hidden relaxation hideaway, a hammam, an ice room, a relaxation garden, and a range of treatment rooms. The final stop was the silent lounge, located right at the front of the ship, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean. We were honestly amazed at how spacious the spa area was—definitely a great spot to unwind!
A Peek at the Broadway Show Lounge
On the way back to our cabin, we had a quick nosey at the Broadway Show Lounge. It’s always exciting to check out the entertainment venues on board, and we were looking forward to experiencing a show later in the cruise.
Sightseeing on the Tourist Train
We love tourist trains—they’re a fun and easy way to explore a new place! Many cruise ports offer them, and they’re a great way to take in the local sights. The route we took was a simple loop around town, giving us the chance to admire some vibrant street art along the way.
Usually, this train has three stops, but since it was a quiet Sunday with most places closed, it only stopped once in the town centre. We decided to stay on board and enjoy the full ride, soaking up the scenery.
Towards the end of the journey, the train followed the seafront, offering stunning views of the beach and a few inviting bars in the distance.
A Pit Stop for a Pint
Whenever we visit a port, we like to support local businesses, so we made a point to stop at a bar for a cold, refreshing pint in the sunshine. There’s nothing quite like relaxing with a drink while taking in the local atmosphere!
Snack Shack Delights
Back on board, we headed to the Snack Shack on Deck 11, right by the pool. This is the place to grab afternoon bites, whether you fancy something sweet or savoury.
- Grab-and-go wraps, sandwiches, and salads
- Cookies, cakes, and doughballs for those with a sweet tooth
- Hotdogs, burgers, and wings fresh from the grill—the real stars of the show!
Everything here is complimentary, making it the perfect quick and easy snack spot.
We did notice we didn’t get our sides of mixed leaves with our meal—we could have asked, but in all honesty, we just forgot!
Dance the Night Away at Indigo
We wrapped up the evening at Indigo, home to the late-night disco. Luke made the most of the dancefloor, and even I couldn’t resist joining in on the fun! It was an absolute blast, the perfect way to end a fantastic day onboard Marella Explorer.
