Not long until we join P&O Oceana
May is approaching fast, in a weeks time we will be flying to Malta to join P&O Cruises Oceana for a Mediterranean cruise.
Those with eagle eyes will have spotted the cover pic isn’t from Oceana, that’s because this will be our first cruise on her. That’s not our only first, after 12 cruises this will be our first ‘fly cruise’ – we are so excited but also a little nervous as we have not flown since we started cruising in 2014.
The cruise departs Malta on the 3rd of May with a sea day before arriving in Split. We have decided to book the P&O excursion to the Krka National Park for the day we are in Split so that we can wonder around the waterfalls and take in the scenery. From here we will head to Venice, this will be an early start to watch the sail in before heading to St Mark’s square (Piazza San Marco) where we are looking to climb the bell tower to view Venice from high up before getting ourselves lost in the side streets exploring the city.
The following day we arrive in Ravenna, this is the port we know least about and will take the opportunity to rest a little, with less exploring and saving our energy for the following day – Dubrovnik. This will be the highlight of our cruise, heading up on the cable car to look over the old town of Dubrovnik before then walking the wall around old town and hunting out the filming locations for Game of Thrones.
We have one final sea day before arriving back in to Malta and taking our flight home to Bristol.

I will also be posting updates to our Facebook group and we have even arranged a get together on the first sea day with other group members, thanks to the folks at P&O for providing a venue and refreshments for that.
